Skuut!

Over Labor Day weekend, Drew bought Jasper a new bike. It's a wood frame, no pedal, balance bike: Skuut. Jasper loves it and quickly became a daredevil - coasting down our driveway into the garage (the one application for which the slope of our driveway is helpful). Here are some photos and videos.

Day 1: Jasper liked popping wheelies right off the bat!

Day 2: Jasper took to coasting like a duck to water. He'd push himself up to the top of the driveway and then push down a little until he worked up enough speed and then lifted his legs for the final run down. He loved it!

Yes, wipeouts and/or collisions happened, but he did not get injured in any of them. What's best is that he just got back up and hopped back on the bike each time.

After two days of riding and near crashes, Drew got Jasper a cool helmet to protect his all too important head. It has Lightning McQueen on it! As you might imagine, Jasper loves it!

There are elbow/knee pads which are fun to look at but don't get used. They were fun to try-on, though.

Jasper loved his helmet so much he wanted to wear it while brushing his teeth before bed.

A week or two in (I don't really know). His progress is marked!

Three weeks in: At this point, Jasper's bike seat needs to be raised and his tires need more air. Drew is all too happy to get out his bike mount to make these adjustments. This is not the last time these two will bond over bike adjustments. Drew is very happy about that!

And off he goes, all tuned up! Benjamin is there to cheer him on!
