Fun with Cousins in Michigan

While we were in Michigan, the girls and Auntie Britt (aka the Baby Whisperer) loved holding Asher. The girls were very gentle with him and loved helping Auntie Lindsay take care of him.

Jasper loves spending time with his cousins, eating breakfast:

and making meals together on the porch.

The backyard of Papa and Nana's house became our soccer field. Linnea and Karin are good soccer players, and Jasper loves to kick the ball. So we had many impromptu games together. Benjamin hung out in the exersaucer and was our cheering section.

Linnea braved the drool to let Benjamin crawl and sit on her. Benjamin was teething pretty seriously while we were in Michigan and drooling up a storm!

One afternoon we took a trip to South Haven. The air temp didn't make it above 60 degrees, and the water of Lake Michigan is pretty cold. But the kids did not care. Jasper would have gone swimming if we had let him. Thankfully Auntie Brittany had unteathered hands to keep him from dunking himself.

Even being restricted to just getting his pants wet, Jasper still had a blast!

Yes, Karin was in the water. And not long after being in the water, she had ice ceam, too. These Minnesota girls are tough!

The next day it was warmer. Not really warm - but sunny and warm enough to bust out the slip and slide. Karin has impressive airborn form.

Jasper is refining his form.

Jasper and Linnea had fun just splashing in the water.

Check out Jasper's tat! Earlier that morning, Jasper went to the local firestation with Papa, Uncle Adam and the girls. The firemen gave them educational material and temporary tatoos. Somehow I missed out on mine, but most everyone was blessed with a tat or a sticker.

Yep, I was there.

Benjamin loves his uncles. Uncle Chris and Benjamin take in the slip and slide activity in the shade of the tree. Benjamin isn't quite ready for sliding down the hill and hitting the water at the bottom. He had fun just hanging out with us, anyway.

Here is a lawnchair photo of Nana and Papa with their grandkids. Uncle Adam discovered if you sang the Minnesota fight song, Benjamin would laugh and laugh and laugh. So as our cameras were snapping, he and Britt are standing behind saying "... Minnesota, Minnesota, goooooo gophers!"

Jasper tries out his first roasted marshmellow. He ate a little, but not the whole thing. He is not a sweet tooth, just like his dad.

Karin is a fan of smores!

As Auntie Brittany was trying to locate all Karin's shoes to get packed, Jasper grabbed a couple and took them on a fashion show.

Papa's big recliner on the porch is a super cozy spot for reading and resting.

our parting shot ...
